Hi, I'm Dr. Andrea Severson...

But please call me Andrea. I'm a writer, editor, and writing instructor/coach. I have a PhD in English: Writing, Rhetorics and Literacies from Arizona State University (2018) and an MA in English Rhetoric and Composition from ASU (2013) and an MA in Media Arts from University of Arizona (2007). I have a passion and curiosity for writing, rhetoric, creative media, and content creation.

I have over 10 years of experience in creative writing, academic writing, editing, and research and 5 years of experience in teaching writing at the university level. So I know a thing or two about writing for different audiences. 

In addition to my academic work I also have a blog and a YouTube channel and a mild obsession with social media, you can pretty much always find me on Instagram. Often my academic work and my creative work merge and bleed into one another, which is just how I like it.

When I'm not hanging out in the Phoenix valley, I'm usually flying off to London (with side trips to Oxford) where I can usually be found walking around taking pictures on my Olympus Pen or iPhone, writing in a coffee shop, or shopping.

I firmly believe anyone can be a writer. This is something I’m constantly telling my students, Instagram followers, and YouTube subscribers…basically anyone who will listen to me! I hear so many times from people that they’d love to write a book but they don’t know where to start. That’s where I’d love to help.
